Postnatal at Body Image Fitness
This is a supportive, baby-friendly class designed to help you rebuild strength, confidence, and trust in your body after birth, without pressure, judgement, or diet culture.
This class focuses on safe, progressive movement for postnatal bodies, with particular attention to core strength, pelvic floor support, posture, and everyday functional movement (like lifting, carrying, and getting up and down from the floor).
Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure personalised support and a calm, inclusive atmosphere. All movements are optional, with adaptations offered throughout so you can move in a way that feels right for your body.
There is no expectation to “bounce back”, push through fatigue, or exercise through discomfort. Rest is always welcome.
Babies are welcome. Feeding, settling, cuddling, crying, and stepping out are all completely normal here.
What to expect
Each session is designed to feel calm, supportive, and flexible, with space for both you and your baby.
When you arrive, there’s time to settle in, feed, cuddle, or get comfortable before we begin. Classes don’t start abruptly, and you’re welcome to join in at your own pace.
To rebuild strength without pressure to “bounce back
A safe, inclusive, non-judgemental space
Movement that focuses on function, confidence and care, not weight loss
It is not about shrinking your body, 'fixing' yourself, or meeting unrealistic expectations.

No. You don’t need any previous fitness experience to attend this class. All movements are optional and adaptable, and you’re encouraged to move at a pace that feels right for you. This class is about support and confidence, not fitness levels..
Yes, as long as you’ve been medically cleared to return to exercise. All exercises can be adapted, and there is no pressure to do anything that doesn’t feel right for your body. If you have specific concerns, you’re very welcome to get in touch before attending.
That’s completely expected and very welcome here. Babies can cry, feed, sleep, be cuddled, or need your attention at any time. You’re free to pause, settle your baby, or step out whenever you need, no explanations required. We also have comfortable seating available for feeding, and the whole environment is relaxed and supportive.
Yes! Each session is limited to a maximum of six participants (plus babies), ensuring plenty of room for prams. You’ll also have space to keep your baby beside you, whether in the pram or laid next to you, while you exercise.
That’s absolutely fine. A flexible, baby-friendly start is built into the class, and you’re welcome to arrive whenever you can. You won’t be disrupting anything by coming in late.
This class is suitable from 6 weeks post-birth, or once you’ve been medically cleared to return to exercise. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready, please check with your healthcare provider or get in touch with us.
Yes, our courses are booked as a full block. This helps ensure consistency in your recovery and progress, as each session builds on the last. It also allows us to keep class sizes small, maintain a supportive group environment, and reserve your space each week.
Please let us know via the pre-class questionnaire or by getting in touch beforehand. The class is designed to be supportive, but it doesn’t replace medical care. If something doesn’t feel right during the class, you’re encouraged to stop and let the instructor know.
Absolutely! You’re very welcome to join. We have a playpen available to help keep little movers safe and secure, and there’s still space for your baby to be close by while you exercise. We just ask that you let us know in advance so we can have the playpen ready for you.
